Diwali Mela |
This year, George Mason University’s Indian Students Association, has decided to take on a new way of celebrating Diwali at GMU! We will be holding a Mela on Friday, 7 November 2008 at 6:30pm on GMU’s Fairfax Campus. We will be having several vendors advertising and selling their products and would like to invite you all to come join us!

Ekal Vidyalaya |
The ISA’s Semi-Annual Charity Event
Ekal Vidyalaya: Helping to spread the light of education in India
Date: 6/29/08 (This Sunday)
Time: 5:30 PM
Venue: JC Cinema
This event is the ISA’s semi-annual charity event. The organization we are working with is called Ekal Vidyalaya. They travel to very rural and tribal parts of India to open schools and therefore opportunities for children who would otherwise never have a fighting chance at an education. They teach simple reading, writing, and arithemetic skills to help them. It only costs $400 Dollars to open a school.
Please help us by coming out and supporting this noble cause. We would like to thank you ahead of time for your support.

The new ISA Board has been announced. The structure of the board has been changed this year. The ISA Board for 2008/2009 year is:

Holi |
Greeting to all members! Our Holi event took place yesterday, April 26th, 2008, and the board members would like to thank everyone that came out and participated. The Broadside came by and took pictures and information about the event. So be on the lookout for the ISA to be featured in an issue of the Broadside! It was our last event of this school year. During the summer, plans for the Fall events will begin. As the new semester gets closer all the events will be solidified and Facebook messages will be sent out with all the information.
